Step 1: Port Bourgenay to Gijón
Departure on July 18th
The 2025 edition will start on July 18th in Port Bourgenay with a start in a northwesterly wind. The skippers will sail towards Gijón for nearly 400 nautical miles across the Bay of Biscay. The crossing will be marked by strong currents and wind changes, requiring a precise navigation strategy to manage the variable sea conditions.
Stage 2: Gijón to Port Bourgenay
Departure on July 23
After a stopover in Gijón, the skippers will set off again on 23 July for the second leg to Port Bourgenay. The return route will offer new challenges, with technical manoeuvres as they approach the coast. Arrival in Port Bourgenay is scheduled for around 25 July, followed by the prize-giving ceremony on 26 July.
